In March I got to shoot a wedding for an awesome couple, Ryan & Melinda. I had also been able to do their engagement pictures so it was fun to be able to work with them again and be there on their special day. It was a cold and rainy day but amazingly it stopped raining just in time for us to take the outdoor photos and they turned out great!

So sweet.

I love this one.

I am so excited to introduce to all of my upcoming brides as well as future brides the hottest thing in the wedding industry right now... on site photo booths at your wedding reception! Not only am I able to introduce this concept to all of my brides but I'm now fully equipped to offer it to you as well!

I had the privilege of setting up this photo booth at Andy & Leslie's wedding this past month and it was a WILD success. There was a line for the booth almost all night and the pictures we captured are priceless. Its a fabulous way of documenting who was at the reception in a way thats both creative and reflective of everyone's personalities!

A reunion session for a gorgeous family!

New Beginnings

Its a new year... and with a new year comes the endless attempts to make ourselves better people with less bad habits and more good ones. Its a noble gesture but one that I have yet to accomplish. No more than 90 days into a new year and my resolutions are either long abandoned or have recently fallen prey to my indifference or laziness.

This year is different. I've resolved not to make any new years resolutions that I don't want to do. For example, I do NOT want to stop eating McDonalds. I do NOT want to work out every day (or ever for that matter), I do NOT want to start back up with a rigorous weekly cleaning schedule. I simply don't.

I mean I get it... the whole purpose of resolutions seems to be to motivate yourself to do the very things you don't ever want to do... but it simply doesn't work for me! And to be honest it doesn't seem to work well for other people either... hehe

So, this year I am trying something new. I'm trying to put together a list of things I really WANT to do. All of them at this point include photography but I have other things brewing in my mind - including a variety of areas of my life. One of them is to take a picture/week. I've written out themes and asked a good friend who is good at photography to join me in my endeavor. (If anyone else wants to join in just shoot me an email!)

Who knows, come March I may end up dropping the ball and count it as another 90 day resolution but for now its something I'm actually excited about. I'm being challenged... even at the get go. I'm the one who made the themes and still this week had me stumped. I have a couple other ideas I'd love to try to post before the weekly theme is up but since the goal is one per week I'm counting this one done as completed!

I've said it before and I'll say it again... photographing someone's wedding is such a privilege. To know someone is trusting me to accurately and beautifully capture one of the most important days in their lives is so humbling... and so fun. I love being able to spend the day with brides and grooms and see their excitement, their nerves, their first look, their joy. Thank you Brent & Corinne for letting me share in your special day. It was beautiful.

Corinne was breathtaking. Watching her get ready with her mom and her friends was contagiously exciting!

And Brent was equally handsome.

Corinne and her girls didn't stop laughing the entire time we were taking pictures. They were all having a blast!

Sophia - a blast from the past

This is back blogging at its best. I'm not even willing to admit how old this session is!

I'm pretty sure Sophia is the trendiest baby I've photographed... so of course I was in heaven. I think she comes by it naturally since her mama is so trendy too! This was a bittersweet session since they were about to say goodbye to Sophia's daddy as he serves our country.

On any given day you can find John Michael dressed up as a pirate. Last year for Christmas Tara & Adam bought John Michael & Addy pirate costumes and the novelty has not worn off since!

He's also my little drama child. He's the most expressive and I think the most imaginative. I'm regularly overhearing him fighting imaginary bad guys or rescuing people in distress. It warms my heart.

This session had me nervous, I'm not gonna lie. When Sara called to schedule Chloe's 4 year pictures she warned me several times that having her picture taken was like a 3rd world torture device for her sweet daughter. I assured her that we'd get along famously and not to worry... and inside I worried! Its times like this I know why people bring assistants. Entertaining little ones is a full time job.. and doing it while manning the camera is not easy.

But, alas... Chloe and I really did hit it off famously. She was happy and excited and a complete and total JOY to photograph. She was in her element... and I daresay, she could have a modeling future if she wanted, she's that good!

One thing I love about family sessions is snagging a couple of pictures of Mom & Dad. I hear, more often than not, "Wow, I think the last time we had our picture taken together was at our wedding!" Shame on all of you who can say the same! Schedule a session, you'll be so glad you did!

I think the one thing that stood out to me the most about this session was what a good Mommy Michael & Max have. She was patient and peaceful and kind throughout the entire session... which of course resulted in joyful and happy children. She made my job easy! And she has super cute kids to boot!

My oldest clients

Triniti is my oldest client. I've shot her since she was in the womb. :) I'd like to say that's why she's one of my favorites but I'm torn between that and the fact that it seriously doesn't get any cuter than Triniti! Not only is she naturally gorgeous but her Mommy & Daddy dress her in the coolest outfits. Triniti, like her parents, always looks 100% put together.

I really can't tell if Triniti is a Mommy's girl or a Daddy's girl. It seems like she loves comfort from her mama and silly play time with her daddy.

Nothing is quite as flattering as having someone book you to do their wedding photography, especially when they don't know you personally! Because I'm a 100% referral based business (you can tell I don't even advertise via blog much!) it means a lot to me when people book me.... it usually means they know someone else who was happy with my work.

I'm excited to be shooting Brent & Corinne's wedding next month! This will be my last wedding before maternity leave so I plan on going out with a bang. If they turn out nearly as awesome as their engagement pictures I think we'll all be thrilled.... then again, I'm not sure its possible for this couple to take one single bad picture. :)

This is the second time I've gotten to photograph this little princess and I have to admit, she melts my heart. She's very close to Nicholas' age and she's seriously well loved. Don't gasp. Don't check to see if you're on the right blog... this is INDEED a **CURRENT** session! I actually just did this session last weekend! This, in no way, means I'm caught up - I have about 50 sessions I never blogged :( but I'm going to start where I'm at and do some blast from the past posts to give some blog lovin' to my old sessions. :)

Jason & Lisa are a wonderful couple who we've had the privilege of knowing for several years! I was so excited when they called me to do their family's pictures this year because their kids grow exponentially cuter each time I see them! Plus, last year we did their pictures it was FREEZING and we weren't able to do a traditional shoot. This year was a blast - thanks for braving the ghetto with me guys! I hope you love your pictures!

Rosenbaum Wedding

Collin & Stephanie were married last month. It was a beautiful and sweet ceremony that was so much more about God than about themselves. They wrote their own vows and I must confess... I teared up. :) They are clearly in love with each other and I hope they are half as in love with their pictures as I am. :)

Speaking of love, I fell in love with this wall as soon as I saw it. I actually built all the other locations around where this wall was!

I had the joy of meeting and photographing this beautiful family earlier this week. With about a million other pictures to edit I just couldn't keep my itching fingers off of this one. This little gal just melted my heart. She was a little sick for our session but you wouldn't have known it... she just went with the flow, smiling and wooing us all with her baby charm!

She let me stick her in baskets....

And its no wonder she's so joyful. She is one well loved little baby!

They are so wrapped up in each other. :)

And I wish I could explain to you how much fun her parents were to photograph! Her dad sure has a way of making her mom laugh and there is no doubt in my mind this is one family that will have a lot of love and laughter in their home.

Tom & Bridget got married this January and trusted me to capture their day. Bridget is one of the most beautiful girls, inside and out, I have ever known and I know she is wildly happy with Tom.

Meet Triniti. I've photographed Triniti sincer her she was in her Mommy's tummy. And it has been nothing short of a joy.

She's almost 100% mobile now so she's making my job more interesting, that's for sure! But I was thrilled with the awesome pictures we got.

Someone graciously reminded me that they were waiting to see their friends pictures on my photography blog... and I was reminded of how infrequently I post my work! I guess I'm just so busy with everything else that I don't take the time to blog. But, excuses, excuses, right!? "They" say that a frequently updated blog will increase your business dramatically... but the truth of the matter is I'm busy enough! I love doing this but I don't want to make it a full time job. One session per week is more than enough for me and a couple of weeks ago I had three sessions in one week! So, needless to say I'm playing catch up!

However, I'll start posting more, I promise.

Here is an e-session (engagement session) I had the pleasure of doing for John & Stephanie a couple of weeks ago. These aren't all of them but enjoy!

One of the things that really struck me about John & Stephanie is that they laughed and enjoyed each other the ENTIRE time we were together. They both had a blast - though John could possibly make a career out of hamming it up in front of the camera! :) - and I enjoyed our session together SO MUCH! Congratulations on your upcoming marriage guys! I hope I make it to the wedding! (its a week before my due date. :))

i can't believe its been 3 months since triniti was at my house letting us know that she was going to fight her modeling career tooth and nail. :) well, she is fighting a losing battle.... i may not have won a smile out of her this session but she was a dream to work with and i got some adorable shots. here are a few of my favorites:

Seniors Seniors

This week was another first for me. I had the pleasure of doing senior pictures for a good friend of ours, Robert. This obviously wasn't my first session with a high school senior... but it was my first session with a guy! I was kind of nervous. It just seems like girls are naturals in front of the camera and guys are kind of awkward. But Robert was relaxed and did whatever I asked of him - and I think the pictures turned out great! Right now he's out of the country on a missions trip but hopefully he and his family will enjoy these pictures for years to come. Enjoy!

Believe it or not this is not the same tree as before! Who knew there were so many great trees in the area?

I don't know if Robert or his mom associate him with this car but I remember when he got it. I love this picture because it is a snapshot of his high school years and I'll always remember Robert in this car!

I had a wonderful senior shoot today! It was great meeting some new people and getting some awesome shots. My model today was a natural in front of the camera and I'm excited to get back to proof land to further discover what awesome captures we got!
